Microsoft 365 works well enough out of the box that most small businesses never revisit the defaults, until one of them causes a problem. From external sharing links left wide open to legacy authentication that quietly bypasses MFA, these are the five settings we find misconfigured most often when reviewing a new client's tenant. None require new software. Each is a five-minute fix once you know where to look, and together they close some of the most common security and cost gaps we see.
