AWS Outage Update — October 20, 2025
This morning, a major Amazon Web Services (AWS) outage caused widespread disruption across the United States. The incident began early Monday in the US-EAST-1 region, one of AWS’s largest data centers, and affected numerous online tools, websites, and applications — including many that do not host directly on AWS but rely on its infrastructure. According to AWS, the root issue involved internal service dependencies and network connectivity within that region.
