Budgets could be built a year in advance with reasonable confidence that a server quoted in January would cost roughly the same in September. That era appears to be over. A convergence of RAM shortages, raw material constraints, and layered supply chain disruptions is driving costs upward across nearly every hardware category, and the trajectory suggests this is not a temporary spike.
